Can't stop won't stop
The past couple of days have seen much insanity Chez Flora, and it's still going on. This is just a quick note to ask all my dear readers a question about a literary quotation. I can't remember where I found it, but I have been using this as my email signature:

"I have an affection for a great city. I feel safe in the neighbourhood of man, and enjoy the sweet security of the streets."
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The thing is, I have no idea whether it's authentic or not. All I can find on Google is that isolated line, attributed to Longfellow, with no clue as to which larger work it came from (or whether he said it in a speech, or whatever).

Does anybody have any ideas?
